Planning an Intimate Castle Wedding at Ashford Castle: Ryan & Rosalie
Ashford Castle, Ireland
An intimate castle wedding at Ashford Castle allows couples to slow the pace of celebration and create meaningful experiences centred around connection, place and shared memories. Set across three days on the shores of Lough Corrib, Ryan and Rosalie’s celebration welcomed 40 guests to an immersive wedding weekend inspired by nature, Irish folklore and the Summer Solstice. Like many of the intimate weddings we plan in Ireland, the celebration prioritised meaningful guest experiences and a strong sense of place.
Rather than designing a single wedding day, the celebrations unfolded gradually across the estate, with each gathering introducing a new atmosphere and inviting guests to engage more deeply with the landscape and one another. This considered approach often defines our work planning castle weddings in Ireland, where the experience extends far beyond the ceremony itself.
The festivities began with a welcome gathering at Cullen’s at the Cottage before moving to a Summer Solstice celebration overlooking Lough Corrib, where rituals and live music by Cormac Begley created an atmosphere that felt both deeply personal and unmistakably Irish.
The wedding day itself took place within The Walled Garden and culminated in a bespoke greenhouse reception inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Throughout the weekend, handcrafted details, evolving floral installations and thoughtfully choreographed transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces created an experience that was intimate, immersive and entirely reflective of the couple’s vision. This Ashford Castle wedding demonstrates how smaller celebrations can still deliver extraordinary depth, creativity and connection.
