We begin this very special series with internationally renowned dress designer Reem Acra. A beautiful lady who we are so privileged to call our friend, and cares deeply about creating dreams for her clients, her eponymous bridal gown line and ready-to-wear collection combines tradition with a modern aesthetic. We have been so blessed to have worked with Reem in the past seeing first hand how she designs exquisite couture creations to give our clients the dress of their dreams.

FROM PASSION TO BRAND

Reem Acra is a renowned international designer who is known for her breathtaking collections in both Ready-to-Wear and Bridal. Reem combines tradition with a modern aesthetic and leads the way by continuously redefining the boundaries of fashion.

Reem Acra New York was founded in 1997 and represents the height of fashion in Ready to Wear, Bridal and Haute Couture, attracting a clientele of discerning women, royalty and celebrities. 1. AS TRUE, EXPERTS WHAT ARE THE BEST PIECES OF ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE A BRIDE FOR DESIGNING OR CHOOSING HER WEDDING GOWN?

We know it is a difficult time to think about ones wedding dress-in fact it is great to dream about the future.

Each bride should think of her dress as an extension of her own personality and what she represents. She also needs to remember that her wedding dress is a symbol of unity and the beginning of a new life. She should let her guard down and dream about anything she wants-it does not necessarily need to be on-trend but rather be representative of herself keeping in mind her future husbands personality and the memory of the picture that will be hanging on her wall for many years to come.

2. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE DRESS THAT YOU DESIGNED?

I love designing wedding dresses. I feel happy and fulfilled seeing the happy faces of the brides and ultimately the emotional faces of the grooms at the first sight of their brides walking down the aisle.

I have many favorites. I tend to portray the classic grand looks with the modern twist, trying always to be ahead of a trend. Creating dreams for the brides before their eyes. The dresses have a delicacy in the embroideries. They have a meaning and portray a character of the brides that chose them.

3. AS A DESIGNER, WHAT DO YOU LOOK TO FOR INSPIRATION?

I get inspired by many things around me. There is no lack of inspiration when you are devoted to the art of creation- anything could be inspiring. I love to surround myself with beautiful things I love, this is very important to me, it could be beautiful spaces, delicate embroideries, architecture, people, movies etc….
